I know this thread is old, but it is because I was searching for a way to do this same thing as a new Ableton user and while I appreciate the time taken to give the previous answers. You can go into a different clip on the same track, add a different groove, apply that, then copy the notes to the original clip part. After that, apply the groove to the notes and then add the non-swung notes. This will allow you to add swing to the notes you want in the groove. Chop and Swing comes loaded with inspired recordings and presets perfect for cutting up and re-combining into fresh new tracks. The groove will then go away and the notes on the piano roll will snap to where the groove put them. Ableton’s homage to the style that made sampling an art form and put a new kind of groove on the musical map. You can actually apply the groove to the MIDI notes themselves, by clicking the Apply button (or the pointing right arrow button in 11) in the groove section of the clip. Even if you're not exactly going for a total swing feel, I would suggest you do this for melodies that are 16th note based, or anything really, because it really adds a lot to the feel of the song and makes it sound way less robotic.I am resurrecting this from the grave, to give an easier solution. I have made some really cool song transitions this way. This is also a very good way to transition your song into a swing feel if you already made it in a version without swing. What I do is click the note( so you have the length and stuff kept when you place another note down), then right click to delete it, and then left click to plop the note down at the grid line right after it. I can provide a quick gif explaining it if you would like. You can turn the snap off to shorten these notes so it doesn't bleed into the next note.

It's hard to explain but, for example, if you have four 16th notes filling up a single beat, it would be the second and fourth notes you'd move forward. Best Free Drum Kits 2020 - Works with FL Studio, Logic Pro X & Ableton. Then, what you do is change the snap to "1/6 step" and for every other 16th note, move it to the snap/division line to the right. I'm not looking for 'swing' as some suggested in the other threads) and listen/adjust in real time. Script functions (callbacks) are the instructions FL Studio will recognize and act upon in the Python code.Callbacks are organized in modules according to FL Studio target features (Playlist, Patterns, Device etc.). The script used in this tutorial is available here. It lets you set a uniform/static offset (i.e. NOTE: For the Interpreter tab to work you must select a script from the MIDI Settings > Controller type option. Use slicex to chop it up into individual hits, or you can do it manually in the playlist with the slice tool(which i prefer), and make sure every note is on a sixteenth note(or 32nd). In FL Studio there is a 'shift' knob in the channel settings that lets you set a small positive or negative offset for when the content in the channel plays vs where it actually sits in the sequencer.

On top of using slicex, there is a more manual way that I have learned that gives very good results and it allows you to add swing to basically everything.
